I’m a serious home cook. When I lived in Paris, I worked translating at a French cooking school that attracted professional chefs who spoke no French but spoke English. I earned an intermediate certificate there — not enough to win a James Beard prize but certainly qualifying me to cook somebody’s dinner at home.
In my Substack newsletter — Anne‘s American Kitchen — I talk about how food makes us feel, connects us to one another, makes a house feel like home.
Right now, the newsletter is free. I may make parts of it fall behind a paywall, but for now, you can get my quirky sense of humor and my recipes, all with instructions and an understanding that we hope our food conveys love to those whom we love.
Come on in my kitchen. I have an extra apron for you.
